Megan and Craig's story
Megan and Craig, with their four daughters in tow, moved to St. Louis so Craig could attend St. Louis Theological Seminary. New to the area, they needed something to help them settle into the neighborhood. They found their way to the Edward Jones Family YMCA and their lives haven’t been the same. Megan homeschools her daughters, ages 2 to 7, and comes to the YMCA about three times each week.

The Y has provided a venue for their physical education, including activities such as swimming, basketball and preschool sports. Megan has even started her own exercise regimen, something she has not attempted in the past.

“The Y is a place where each of us can find something for our particular interests and also gives us a place to be together as family,” says Megan. “Since my husband is in school, we wouldn’t be here without the help of the financial assistance program. It has had a tremendous impact on our daily lives.”

Everyone’s a Y kid, from the active older adults in aquatics class, to the youngest member of Mommy & Me gymnastics. And they all find what they need at the YMCA—a place to belong, friends who care, the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment.

The YMCA mission is at the heart of all of our programs: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirits, minds and bodies for all. We can only live up to our mission, and truly serve all who need us, with the help of committed and generous donors like you who give to the YMCA Partner Campaign. Your help ensures that no one, of any age, race, gender or ability, will ever be turned away from a YMCA program because they can’t afford it. Your help ensures that every kid can be a Y kid.
