YMCA of Greater St. Louis To Offer Free Two-Month Memberships To Those Who Have Recently Lost Their Jobs
St. Louis, MO (May 1, 2009) – To provide even greater support to families and individuals experiencing financial hardship, the YMCA of Greater St. Louis will begin offering free two-month memberships to those who have recently lost their jobs. The free memberships will be offered at all branches of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis beginning May 4 for a limited time.
“For more than 150 years, the YMCA of Greater St. Louis has responded to the needs of our community,” said Gary Schlansker, President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis. “Especially in tough times, the YMCA provides a place to connect with others, de-stress, and be part of a supportive community.”

YMCA America On the Move One Mile Kick-Off Walk

Meet in front of the YMCA at 10:00 a.m.
Be a part of the nationwide movement to reclaim our country’s health! Join us for a one-mile walk on Saturday, September 26. The walk starts at 10 a.m., but come a few minutes early to get your free walking “Quick Start Guide” and register to win attendance prizes. Then, join Jo Thomas and the rest of the gang for the one-mile kick-off walk. All ages are welcome. Miles logged during the week will be tallied and included in the results of a nationwide effort to walk 10 billion steps during America On the Move Week. Help us get there!

Looking to keep your workout going over the summer? Try our Step 2 class and make sure all your hard work
doesn’t go to waste. Sixty minutes of cardiovascular exercise will keep your heart strong while fun step combos condition your muscles and heighten coordination. Come join the fun!

Y Party
Ages 6 and up. Choose a fun activity in the gym or swimming pool. After that there’s time set aside in our party room for your own celebration.
SENIOR LUNCHEON
Join us for friends and fun at our monthly luncheon for seniors. A wonderful pot luck lunch is served on the third Monday of every month at the YMCA. Bring your favorite dish to share. Bingo to follow.
