YMCA of Greater St. Louis

About the Branch

The Historic Carondelet YMCA is the oldest Y building in the St. Louis community. While it no longer serves as a family fitness facility, the Historic Carondelet Y plays a key role for the YMCA of Greater St. Louis.

This branch serves as the administrative office for Inclusion Services and Urban Core programs. The YMCA’s Habilitation initiative is also housed at the Historic Carondelet building.

Volunteers and staff gather at the Historic Carondelet location to make preparations for the annual YMCA Bookfair. Even though the bookfair has outgrown space available at the Historic Carondelet building, hundreds of books are still sorted and priced on site prior to shipping.

The Y is the nation's leading nonprofit committed to strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
