Impact Overview
The YMCA movement is now the largest not-for-profit provider in the United States, serving more than 21 million Americans. YMCAs are also at work in more than 120 countries. In St. Louis, the YMCA operates 21 facilities, including a resident camp and retreat center, to meet the health and social service needs of men, women and children of all faiths, races, abilities, ages and incomes.
Financial assistance is available for those who qualify. One of the YMCA's greatest strengths is in the people it brings together. The YMCA of Greater St. Louis works with more than 5,000 volunteers annually in program delivery and organizational guidance through boards and committees. Core programs include aquatics programs, wellness and fitness, child care, camping, sports, and teen leadership.
