Meeting the needs of communities, strengthening families and helping children to grow have always been central to the YMCA's mission and
philosophy. Through YMCA Child Care programs, we do just that.

YMCA Child Care Facts

• The YMCA is the largest provider of childcare in the State of Missouri.
• We care for more than 7,000 kids in our School Age Child care programs and another 500 in our Early Childhood Education Centers every day.
• We care for children ages six weeks through fifth grade.
• Our staff is well-trained. All child-care staff members receive extensive training through national YMCA of the USA, and local YMCA of Greater St. Louis trainings.
• We believe that no child should be home alone. That's why we provide financial assistance for hundreds of families in our Early Childhood and School-Age Child Care programs.
• We are advocates for children, and we want our voice to be heard on the national, state and local level. We're involved with the National School Age Child Care Alliance, National Association for the Education of Young Children, Missouri School-Age Child Care Community, the St. Louis Youth Provider Network, Child Day Care Association, St. Louis Partnership and United Way.

YMCA School-Age Child Care
For Kindergarten through 6th grade. Working with schools and parents, School Age Child Care compliments and enhances formal education and provides learning opportunities that build relationships, develop character and inspire discovery.

YMCA Early Childhood Education
For children ages six weeks to five years. YMCA Early Childhood Education provides full day child care services that offer opportunities and experiences which stimulate a child's physical, social, intellectual, and emotional development. Programs are licensed. The following branches offer Early Childhood Education:

YMCA Part-time Preschool
A part week and/or part day preschool program that offers fun, socialization, and developmentally appropriate experiences for children ages three to five. Best of all, our childcare programs and activities are based on the four character values--caring, honesty, respect and responsibility--that are the basis of all that we do.
