Purpose of Position:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Branch Administrator and the Membership Director, the incumbent will provide quality member service to members, potential members, guests, and the general public. He/she serves as a member of the membership services staff that is responsible for providing high quality member service, member/program sales, retention, and satisfaction, while exemplifying the “Y” values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith.
Qualification Requirements
Education: High school student; otherwise high school diploma or equivalency is preferred.
Experience: Keyboarding skills. Must have a positive attitude and ability to work with a team. Required skills include ability to access, enter and retrieve information from computer.
Special skills, Licenses, Certifications or Equipment: Basic computer skills preferred.
Perform all duties while exemplifying the "Y" values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Faith.
Essential Functions of the Job
1. Requires a positive, can-do attitude with ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
2. Strong working knowledge of computers telephones and copy machines.
3. Must possess strong human relation skills – people skills.
4. Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Sound judgment and decision-making skills to handle problem solving and interpersonal skills to deal with people of all socio-economic levels.
6. Embrace, support and role model concepts of Listen First, Building Relationships, Member Engagement and Healthy Lifestyles to all members.
7. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Process collections of EFT returns.
2. Run queries for membership reports daily, weekly and monthly as required.
3. Handle membership correspondence – Welcome, Birthday, and Missed You etc.
4. Review all membership paperwork daily and report to direct supervisor any issues.
5. Process billing for all Corporate Membership accounts.
6. Promote membership retention through member engagement.
7. Give branch tours as needed
8. Market and sell membership and programs.
9. Responsible for checking accuracy of membership sales – checking for appropriate paper work and banking information.
10. Responsible for the Renewal/Termination Program for DT & MQ, calling those members provided on reports.
11. Record cash transactions in accordance to YMCA of Greater St Louis Policies and Procedures.
12. Complete daily reconciliation of shifts or shift reconciliation
13. Secure drawer as required by shift and policy.
14. Meet training deadlines as set forth in the Program Training Model.
15. Know how to operate Y Connect/AS400 - the computer system for data management.
16. Input all information from the membership form.
17. Give branch tours as needed
18. Follow the Policy and Procedure of the YMCA of Greater St Louis for guests.
19. Screen all guests for ID and number of times a guest – follow policy.
20. Run daily, weekly and monthly queries and reports in a timely fashion
21. Run membership statistical report and submit to the Executive Director.
22. Send out birthday cards, we missed you cards, thanks for touring cards when asked to.
23. Work very closely with Membership Director and Health & Wellness to promote growth in membership and fitness.
24. Open or Close branch on time daily.
