Basketball Clinics with Instructor John Hohenstein starting Saturday, September 13
John has over 30 years of basketball experience in the St. Louis area. Along with playing and officiating collegiate basketball, John has coached at the grade and high school level. In 2008, he coached his school's team (the Green Park Vikings) to its second straight city championship and its first state championship, qualifying them for national tournaments in '07 and '08. He has taught numerous clinics, camps and private basketball lessons to help develop young athletes in the game of basketball.

Basketball 101
For rookies ages 6-8, this intro covers "big 5" skills. Focuses on shooting, passing, dribbling, rebounding and basic defensive skills. As players advance, they play weekly scrimmages. Limited to first 25. (45 minutes)
Satudays, 9am at YMCA gym
Basketball 202
For veterans ages 9-12 for students who have at least a year of experience in league play or have been in YMCA basketball camp. Covers jump/stop shooting, crossover dribble, pick and roll, and offense/defense aggressive rebounding. Includes weekly small-sided games. Limited to first 25. (45 minutes)
