Jayiera’s story
Jayiera is five years old and attends Pershing Elementary School in University City. She is a bright, loving, inquisitive child who loves to learn new and exciting things. She’s also an active participant in the YMCA School Aged Child Care Program thanks to financial assistance made available through the Partner Campaign.

Creative and Performing Arts Center

The YMCA’s Creative and Performing Arts Center (CAPA) opened its doors in 1996 with the purpose of raising the self-esteem and achievement levels in urban youth. Focusing on the performing arts as an alternative to traditional enrichment programs, the CAPA is now considered a safe-haven for many of the youth participants. The Creative and Performing Arts Center desires to use the Arts as a social action strategy that will cultivate talent while revitalizing communities. Current and new programs that are, and will be offered are as follows. To join the YMCA Performing Arts Center contact John Suggs at 314-367-4646. Cost to join is $35 per youth annually.

Will help the Monsanto Family YMCA raise $132,000 for Families to Participate in YMCA Programs

Jeanne Roberts has been appointed by the Monsanto Family YMCA Board to serve as the Honorary Chair for the 2007 Partner for Youth Campaign. The Campaign helps raise funds to subsidize memberships for kids and/or families to participate in YMCA swimming classes, youth sports, teen programs, early childhood education programs, after school programs and summer camp. She will lead a team of more than 100 volunteers to raise money for families to participate in YMCA Programs.
