Caitlyn's story Caitlyn will be a sophomore in high school this year. The Carondelet Family YMCA has been an integral part of her life and she is eager to tell others how much the YMCA has changed her life. With the help of financial assistance, she attended Central Leader’s School. This one-week YMCA program teaches youth and teens leadership skills for life. Caitlyn helped to found the Carondelet YMCA Leader’s Club and has served as President. Caitlyn has far exceeded the volunteer service expectation by teaching preschool dance and assisting in Child Watch, our on-site, while-you-work-out, baby-sitting service. She also spent an entire summer as a Counselor in Training for YMCA Day Camp. Caitlyn has planned and led other teens in service- learning and civic engagement projects, including helping to design the South City Skate Park. Not only has she given to the YMCA, the YMCA continues to give back to her. She has made service-learning trips to Trinidad and Belize over the past two years.

Carol’s story
Carol started taking her kids to the Y when she moved to Kirkwood four years ago. As a single mom it was absolutely necessary to have a safe, nurturing environment for her kids to be in before and after school. Without the financial assistance she received thanks to those who give to the Partner Campaign, her children would not have been able to participate in School Age Child Care or Day Camp.

Child Watch Hours

Child Watch
For children 6 weeks to 12 years of age on a first come, first served basis. Limited to two hours, this adult supervised play area is available while parents utilize the YMCA. Both In addition, Children ages 2 ½ and up may also use Kids Express. All Child Watch areas are FREE to full family members.

Kids Gym Parties
Celebrate your child's birthday at the Y. we supply the staff, balloons and party coupons (to revisit). The party is for 1 1/2 hours (includes time for supervised play, cake and gifts). Recommended for ages 8 & under.

WHAT IS AOA?

AOA stands for Active Older Adults. They meet every Tuesday at the Kirkwood YMCA for card playing, socialization and meet and greet.
If you are age 55 or older, you are invited to join us, you don't even need to be a member.
