Caitlyn's story Caitlyn will be a sophomore in high school this year. The Carondelet Family YMCA has been an integral part of her life and she is eager to tell others how much the YMCA has changed her life. With the help of financial assistance, she attended Central Leader’s School. This one-week YMCA program teaches youth and teens leadership skills for life. Caitlyn helped to found the Carondelet YMCA Leader’s Club and has served as President. Caitlyn has far exceeded the volunteer service expectation by teaching preschool dance and assisting in Child Watch, our on-site, while-you-work-out, baby-sitting service. She also spent an entire summer as a Counselor in Training for YMCA Day Camp. Caitlyn has planned and led other teens in service- learning and civic engagement projects, including helping to design the South City Skate Park. Not only has she given to the YMCA, the YMCA continues to give back to her. She has made service-learning trips to Trinidad and Belize over the past two years.

Monday-Friday 5 am to 10 pm
Saturday 7 am to 7 pm
Sunday 10 am to 6 pm
Program areas close 15 minutes before building closes.

Childwatch and Y-Hub Hours
M/W/F 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
T/Th 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sunday 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Hours change in summer.

Holidays
The Wildwood Family YMCA is closed on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day, closes at 3 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve and has abbreviated hours on New Year's Day. Either the Wildwood or West County YMCA will be open for abbreviated hours on Memorial Day, Labor Day and Thanksgiving.

A Wildwood YMCA Campaign Story

Dear Julie,

I am writing this letter to you, to repetition our need for financial assistance. I have been a recipient for the past year of the Wildwood YMCA’s generous financial assistance program. Last year at this time my husband had been unemployed for almost a year.

This year has been a difficult one for me. Recently, my father died of a heart attack. My family and I have been living with my parents for the past 2 years while my husband was conducting a job search. My parents have been a great support. But now, my mother feels overwhelmed with the lack of my father’s income. In January of 2009 my husband landed a job in O’Fallon. We want to contribute to help pay the mortgage and groceries, but right now we can’t. We are trapped in debt. Being unemployed for a year and a half, paying COBRA Health insurance during that time, and giving birth to our 2nd son has taken its toll.

Martha Vatterott
Martha Vatterott is a registered and licensed dietitian practicing for 25 years. She has a B.S. in Medical Dietetics from the University of Missouri-Columbia. For the last 3 years she has devoted her nutrition focus to health and fitness working for the Wildwood Family YMCA. She recently completed coursework in The American Dietetics Association certification for Adult Weight Management. Martha offers a straightforward approach to eating (and living) for the rest of your life. For an appointment call (636)938-4004. Nutrition consultation price for a 60-minute session with a 30-minute follow-up $50; members pay $40.

Kids’ Night Out Schedule

Kids’ Night Out
The Y is all yours if you are in grades K – 5. Parents get the night off too! Swimming, sports, inflatables, games, movies, friendship, fun and attendance prizes. Bring swim suit and towel and please wear gym shoes. Open to first 80 to sign up. Pizza and drink included. Feel free to bring spending money for beverages and snacks. Fee non-refundable after noon the day of the event. All events are from 6:30 to 10 p.m.

Middle School Rec Night Schedule

Family Nights
Enjoy organized activities one Friday night a month. Activities include fitness, exercise and team-building games, open gym time for volleyball or basketball, and crafts. Complete four of six activities to be registered in a drawing for family prizes such as movie tickets, etc. Also features Family Track Time(ages 6 – 12 with parent.) Pool open with slide operating. Board games available too.

Dan Fitzpatrick
With an MS in Phys Ed, Dan was a PE teacher and coach in Parkway and Pattonville districts. He was a collegiate weight-lifting champ and a Senior Olympics Gold Medalist. Dan’s been an AFAA nationally certified personal trainer since 2002, specializing in strength and cardio training. Let him help motivate you to get in top shape.

Preschool Gymnastics Parties
For ages 3-5, up to 10 kids! Includes 45 minutes of gymnastics activities, the party room, an attendant and the invitations. (You provide the other activities, refreshments, plates, napkins, utensils and favors.) Advance payment required. There is a fee for cancellation.

Offered Saturdays from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. and Sundays from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.

Fee $104, members pay $70

Youth Swim Parties
