Jayiera’s story
Jayiera is five years old and attends Pershing Elementary School in University City. She is a bright, loving, inquisitive child who loves to learn new and exciting things. She’s also an active participant in the YMCA School Aged Child Care Program thanks to financial assistance made available through the Partner Campaign.

Jayiera enjoys the program so much she never wants to leave the activities, atmosphere, other students and staff. “Jayiera loves Ms. Tiffany and Ms. Joy and never stops talking about them,” says Jayiera’s grandmother, Denise, of the staff at her granddaughter’s School-Age Child Care program.

Denise says she’s grateful for the financial assistance she has received. “Because without their help, I would not have been able to afford it and Jayiera would be missing out on the learning, fun and interactive play she is currently experiencing,”

Everyone’s a Y kid, from the active older adults in aquatics class, to the youngest member of Mommy & Me gymnastics. And they all find what they need at the YMCA—a place to belong, friends who care, the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment.

The YMCA mission is at the heart of all of our programs: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirits, minds and bodies for all. We can only live up to our mission, and truly serve all who need us, with the help of committed and generous donors like you who give to the YMCA Partner Campaign. Your help ensures that no one, of any age, race, gender or ability, will ever be turned away from a YMCA program because they can’t afford it. Your help ensures that every kid can be a Y kid.
