Karyn, 30, would like to tell you her story:
“I started coming to the Y when I was a kid. I participated in the gymnastics program at the St. Charles County Family YMCA. My mother was a single parent and being able to bring me to the Y helped her a lot! We did all sorts of fun stuff together.”
“Now my son Tyler and I go to the St. Charles County Family YMCA to participate in activities such as day camp, swim classes, and Tumbling for Toddlers. Last year brought about a major career change that substantially affected my finances and I was afraid Tyler would not be able to attend day camp. I applied for YMCA financial assistance through the Y’s Partner scholarship and Tyler is excited to be attending camp again this year.”
“I really enjoy working out at the Y and it makes me feel good; gives me a sense of accomplishment. I am seeking volunteer opportunities within the St. Charles County Family YMCA to give back in any way I can. I think everyone should be involved with the Y.”
Everyone’s a Y kid, from the active older adults in aquatics class, to the youngest member of Mommy & Me gymnastics. And they all find what they need at the YMCA—a place to belong, friends who care, the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment.
The YMCA mission is at the heart of all of our programs: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirits, minds and bodies for all. We can only live up to our mission, and truly serve all who need us, with the help of committed and generous donors like you who give to the YMCA Partner Campaign. Your help ensures that no one, of any age, race, gender or ability, will ever be turned away from a YMCA program because they can’t afford it. Your help ensures that every kid can be a Y kid.
