Meet Rebekah:
Rebekah’s a single mother of two, Alyssa, 7 & Jonavon, 4. Jonavon is enrolled at the St. Charles County Family YMCA Early Childhood Education Center and Alyssa attended the School-Aged Child Care program at Benton Elementary thanks to the YMCA scholarship program.
“I’ve been with the Y for over 4 years. The scholarship program helps me to afford to send my children to quality childcare so that I can work and support my family. If it weren’t for the Y, I would not be able to give my children the experiences they need before starting kindergarten and their lives would not be as enriched.”
“My son is currently in speech therapy and the Y allows his lesson to be done during school hours which definitely helps with my schedule. He loves all the friends he’s made at the ECEC and can’t wait to go back everyday.”
Everyone at the Center has always been very nice and helpful. My daughter is entering the 2nd grade now but still loves visiting her favorite pre-k teacher, Mrs. Smith at the YMCA ECEC.
Everyone’s a Y kid, from the active older adults in aquatics class, to the youngest member of Mommy & Me gymnastics. And they all find what they need at the YMCA—a place to belong, friends who care, the opportunity to learn and grow in a safe environment.
The YMCA mission is at the heart of all of our programs: To put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirits, minds and bodies for all. We can only live up to our mission, and truly serve all who need us, with the help of committed and generous donors like you who give to the YMCA Partner Campaign. Your help ensures that no one, of any age, race, gender or ability, will ever be turned away from a YMCA program because they can’t afford it. Your help ensures that every kid can be a Y kid. Please consider a gift today.
