YMCA Day at the Dome!

September 26, 2010 3:05 pm - 6:00 pm

United Way

Due to generous funding by the United Way, the Y continues to help youth become productive and engaged citizens. Early childhood and youth development programs at the YMCA open the doors of opportunity for education, leadership training, personal growth, service to others and social development.

Last year more than 15,000 youth participated in leaders clubs, Youth in Government, literacy services, after-school enrichment programs and other YMCA youth service activities.

Capital Campaign

The Y’s “Building A Stronger, Healthier Community” capital fundraising campaign supports the YMCA of Greater St. Louis in a variety of ways. Facility renovations and expansions enable the Y to provide positive alternatives and safe havens for children, families and communities.

Recently the Y celebrated the grand opening of an 8,500 square-foot addition to the Four Rivers Area Family YMCA. Facility expansion and renovation projects will come online soon at the South City and Jefferson County YMCAs.

Other YMCA Preschools

Some YMCAs offer a partial week and/or partial day preschool program that offers fun, socialization and developmentally appropriate experiences for children ages three to five. Best of all, our child care programs and activities are based on caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

With a focus on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility, strengthening communities is our cause. At the Y, we believe that lasting personal and social change happens when we all work together. Every day we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to be healthy, confident, connected and secure.

Last year our Strong Community Campaign raised more than $2.7 million in the most challenging economic climate in years. Join the many people who see the value of the Y.
