Facility Usage

Ready to visit the Carondelet Park Rec Plex? Here are a few things you need to know.

Your Membership Card
Your membership card is your key to the facility. Present your membership card every time you visit us. Full and Metro members age 13 and up will be issued permanent membership cards with photos. Lost cards can be replaced for $5. Memberships and cards are non-transferable.

Expected Behavior
The Carondelet Park Rec Plex is an inclusive, family-friendly organization. We expect all our members and guests to model our four values—caring, honesty, respect, responsibility—in their conduct and language. The Rec Plex has the right to terminate a membership at our discretion if actions or behaviors are not deemed in the best interests of the organization.

Bringing Guests
As a Full member of the Rec Plex, you may bring in unlimited guests with you to try our facility. Guests may visit twice before joining. Photo ID required for guests over age 16.

Physical Readiness
Before starting any exercise program, please check with your doctor. If you are age 13 or older, you may ask our fitness staff for a physical readiness questionnaire to help you determine your level of work out.

Using the Equipment
Please schedule your complimentary fitness orientation as soon as possible by contacting the service center. This orientation, which is specific to the equipment in our facility, will help you get the most out of your time at the Rec Plex.

Facility Regulations
Please observe the policies and rules posted in each area of our facility. Our program directors, fitness staff and lifeguards are on duty to ensure your safety. Please respect them and understand their responsibilities.

Holidays
The Carondelet Park Rec Plex is closed on Easter Sunday and Christmas Day.

We will be open:
7 a.m. - 11:00 am on Thanksgiving Day.
5:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. Members are encouraged to bring a friend on those days.

Facility Maintenance Closings
Major maintenance in our facilities requires that we close certain areas for up to two weeks each year, during which time members may continue to use other areas of the facility or another branch of the YMCA of Greater St. Louis. Signs will be posted in advance.

Workout Attire
Shorts and a shirt or a leotard are appropriate in most areas of our facility. Street shoes are not allowed on wood floors. Proper swim suits are required.

Member Input
We value your suggestions for improving our facility. If you have a comment or suggestion, please pass it along to any member of our staff, or fill out a member comment card and drop it in the suggestion box. We will respond to comments/ suggestions that have name, address and phone number.

Emergency Procedures
Your safety and good health are our foremost concerns. Should an accident, injury or unusual incident occur while you are at the Rec Plex, contact a staff member immediately.

Supervision of Children
To ensure safety, children under the age of 13 should be directly supervised by a parent or guardian in all areas of the Rec Plex. Children 5 and under must have an adult in the pool with them. Children age 6-7 must have an adult in the pool area. Children age 8-13 must have an adult in the building, even if the child is enrolled in a class.

Lockers
Use the appropriate locker room for age and gender. Each member or guest should provide his or her own padlock for daily use lockers. Please remove locks when you leave the facility. Locks left on overnight will be removed and contents taken to the service center unless you rent your locker.
