How are We Doing?
We value your comments and suggestions. Please feel free to email us with any feedback. Thank you.
Workout Attire
Workout shorts or pants (no jeans; for women, capris are fine) and a shirt or a leotard (for women sports tops with full coverage are acceptable) are appropriate in most areas of the facility. Street shoes are not allowed on the gymnasium's wood floors or on the pool deck. Tennis or athletic shoes with non-marking soles (no dark soles) are appropriate for the gym. Rubber-soled flip flops or water shoes are suggested for the pool deck. Proper swim suits are required.
Severe Inclement Weather Policy
A decision to cancel programs is made when there is a snow day or early dismissal for snow (we follow Rockwood School District determinations.) When weather threatens safe traveling to and from the YMCA or rain threatens outdoor programs, please call to learn if programs will run.
Pool Usage Policies
Please shower before entering pool. Walk when on pool deck. Trained lifeguards have final authority when enforcing pool and safety rules. Age 5 and under must have adult within arm’s reach in the water. Age 6 – 7 must have adult on deck. Age 8 – 12 must have adult drop off/pick them up from pool deck and adult must remain in facility. Safety is our first priority, and we reserve the right to clear the pool for inclement weather. We close the pool when lightning is overhead and for 30 minutes after its last strike. Lap swimming is always available for ages 13 and up and swim team members. During lessons and swim team, there is only one lane.
Lockers
Each member or guest should provide a padlock. Please remove locks when you leave the facility. Locks left on overnight will be removed and contents taken to the service center. Lost & Found items must be discarded the last Friday of every month. Padlocks are available for purchase at the service center. Some lockers are available for rental.
Guests
Members may bring guests. Guests may visit twice before joining. A guest pass is available for download to the right.

40 Developmental Assets for Youth
The YMCA of Greater St. Louis has joined forces with other YMCAs in the U.S. and the Search Institute to further develop the 40 developmental assets proven to be critical in the positive development of children. The Wildwood Family YMCA uses the asset approach in youth programs. In swim lessons, for example, the YMCA helps kids build assets by providing support of caring instructors, motiviation for learning and positive reinforcement. The more assets your child acquires, the better! View a complete list of the 40 assets or visit Search Institute.
History
As a result of the Vision 2000 Capital Development Project, the new 45,000 square foot Wildwood Family YMCA opened its doors on December 1, 2001. The capital campaign is designated for the improvement of facilities in order to offer expanded programs to a larger population.
